Songwriting began for me at 4 years old swinging on my backyard swing set singing at the top of my lungs for the whole neighborhood to hear. Piano lessons followed at age 6 then guitar by age 11. I wrote a few songs in high school but really began to hone my skills after college.

SONG WRITING

I started performing in the Torrington, CT area while attending the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford in the late 80’s. I also performed the National Anthem at the University’s sporting events that later turned to the Hartford Whalers amongst other professional sporting events. After college, I continued gigging and performing in Warner Theatre musical theatre productions (“Grease”, “Evita”, “Sailing of the Bonnie Anne”, “Mame”, “Rock of Ages”, “Nice Work if You Can Get It”, "Beauty and the Beast”). My “real” gig has been teaching and directing middle school music and chorus.

“In Catholic school 3rd Grade my teacher asked what we wanted to be when we grew up. We were required to choose a career that ‘helped others.’ I lied and chose nursing…..I couldn’t figure out how singing helped others.”
